This was my first project for the class Intro to Design at Umass Lowell. The design requirements included: a limit to the maximum dimensions being 50mm x 50mm x 50mm, inclusion of at least one moving part (the spinning cog & icosahedron), and incorporation of the male and female lego pieces that were designed to attach the figure to projects from other classmates. The design incorporates various features such as boss extrudes and cuts, lofts, patterns, and revolves and is based off of the droid figure seen when updating software in Android smartphones (Google image search 'Android update' for reference photo). The final product was 3D-printed and pictures can be found below:
